True North Sports + Entertainment is looking for a Facilities & Grounds Assistant to join our Camp Manitou team.


The
Camp Manitou, Facilities & Grounds Assistant is responsible for the consistent maintenance, upkeep, safety, and cleanliness of all buildings, activity areas and grounds at Camp Manitou at a standard set out by the Operations Manager.


What to be excited for in this role:

  • Assist with the operations and maintenance of multiple structures ("Camp Manitou") and exterior grounds, working to ensure an exceptional standard of quality, safety, and cleanliness
  • Assist with ensuring the Camp Manitou grounds and facilities are all in safe working condition.
  • Ensure Camp Manitou meets all Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness in buildings and on the grounds of Camp Manitou.
  • Be a liaison for rental groups on the weekend when required.
  • On occasion, may have the opportunity to work with trainees to provide insight into special skills or training.
  • Assist with the implementation, and execution of the core TNYF fundraising events.
  • Maintain healthy working relationship with all other True North and TNYF employees, offering and receiving assistance.
  • Other duties as required.

What we need from you:

  • Five or more years of experience in a related field is an asset.
  • Previous caretaking/maintenance experience required with above average attention to detail and cleanliness.
  • Good to excellent physical fitness
  • Ability to lift 20 kg above head level repetitively.
  • Proactive problem solver who strives for excellence in all projects and tasks
  • Valid class five driver's license with a drivers abstract provided.
  • Ability to work various shifts: day, evenings, overnight and weekends as required.
  • Willing to work outdoors, exposed to all weather conditions including extreme heat and extreme cold.
  • Ability to complete assigned tasks with mínimal or no supervision.
  • Capable of working a full shift with no phone or access to social media
  • Ability to change work directions on the fly as demands change in a fastpaced environment.
