Supporting Mainline Construction Operations, a foreman is responsible for supervision of the crew and equipment to install deep utilities and services for residential and capital underground projects.

Supervise work at the assigned jobsite, including conducting daily field safety & environmental inspections as required, and maintain records and reporting.

Ensure good employee relations are maintained and all training requirements are achieved. Ensure there is optimization of all resources through proper planning and coordination of work.

Ensure all employees, with special emphasis on new hires, have had orientation training for the tasks they are required to perform and/or equipment they are expected to operate.

Be responsible for ensuring uniformity and compliance with contract specifications.

Responsible for reviewing, completing, and making corrections to all required documentation, which includes Daily Timesheets, tailgate meetings, and incident reporting.

Ensure all operations are conducted in a safe and responsible manner in conjunction with the Safety/Project Supervisor and duties are carried out as per OH&S regulations.

Understand and ensure compliance with basic labour laws, applicable specifications, and organizational policies.

Understand and apply our performance standards (QA/QC) requirements for all the maintenance activities.

Performance Management:

Hold each team member accountable for their own results through ongoing performance management: provide immediate verbal or written feedback, recognition of work well done, opportunities for development and cross-training.

Coach others in the identification of hazards and their control measures.
Ensure "work alone" protocol is followed.
Complete all the required documentation as per company policies, directives, regulations, and all pertinent mandates.
Maintain project records, including measured material quantities, personnel hours, and equipment use
Ensure material meets the contract requirements

Minimum 3 years of experience in underground utility construction.
Valid Class 5 AB driver's license with a clean abstract.
Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing required

Note:
Required to relocate to Grande Prairie for duration of the season, this is not a fly-in/fly-out position.

About Mainline Construction

Our story began in 1992, when Harvey Bennett opened a deep utility construction business serving the local residential markets of Grande Prairie, Alberta.

Over the years, he grew the company to service other industries, and expanded to include earthworks, oilfield construction, gravel supply, and trucking.

As Harvey maintained the growth of the business, his primary focus and priority was always his staff, clients and the community.

The family atmosphere at Mainline Construction and its supporting community was a natural fit when Volker Stevin Canada purchased the company in 2014.
