The Opportunity:
We have an exciting opportunity for Conservation Educators to join our team this summer.
The Town of Okotos is once again embarking on a campaign of conservation awareness in our community, and is looking for enthusiastic self-starters to coordindate the initiative.
Reporting to the Environment & Sustainability Coordinator, Conservation Educators will:- Work in the community connecting with residents to encourage prioritization of conservation strategies in areas such as water and energy consumption, waste reduction and diversion, and ecosystem biodiversity,
- Work directly with the Water Conservation Rebate Program, and the Yard and Irrigation Assessment program;
- Assist in coordinating various education and public information programs, special events and initiatives;
- Attend Town events to promote and provide education on conservation strategies;
- Research other community's initiatives and recommend program development, revisions and improvements;
- Projects as assigned by the Environment & Sustainability Coordinator.
What You Bring:
- Minimum 2 years completed towards a postsecondary degree related to education and/or environment science;
- Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills;
- Public speaking and presentation skills;
- Strong attention to detail and time management.
