Position Summary:


The Data Analyst, Medical Transportation, supports data entry, analysis and reconciliation of community-based medical transportation reporting to reconcile data quality and compliance issues and create reports to help engage community partners in understanding reporting issues to enable a more thorough review of medical transportation program policy compliance.

Collaborates with FNHA teams and agreement holders to identify patterns of access and provide a comprehensive picture of provincial travel with communities and our regions.


As a health and wellness organization, the First Nations Health Authority has aligned with the Provincial Public Health Order released on October 14, 2021. We have a mandatory COVID-19 vaccination policy for all employees at First Nations Health Authority. This policy requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. If selected for employment, you will be required to provide proof of vaccination by providing a copy of your BC Vaccination Card Passport with the QR code.

Responsibilities:

  • Supports data entry, analysis and correction of communitybased funding agreement deliverables and medical transportation (Excelbased records) logs
  • Collaborates with the Health Benefits MT Operations team to understand community data reporting patterns and ensure active review, cleaning and analysis of logs
  • Reviews data quality concerns and coordinates with FNHA communities and external partners to resolve discrepancies and creates reports to flag errors for followup and correction prior to annual deadlines
  • Evaluates medical transportation reporting against program policies to ensure that communities are adhering to travel guidelines as outlined in the First Nations Health Benefits Medical Transportation Policy Framework and actively takes steps to improve existing tools to help automate validation processes
  • Reviews medical transportation logs against program policies and databases and conducts research on the BC landscape to determine the closest treatment facilities

Qualifications:

  • Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
  • Experience 35 years of significant, recent and relevant experience in analytical work, preferably in healthcare
  • Experience working with First Nations communities
  • Experience working with Microsoft Office productivity software, with a focus on Excel
  • Experience in analytical work involving financial and operational reporting data, preferably in healthcare
  • Experience with Excelbased tools such as SQL, Macros and/or Visual Basic is an asset
  • Experience developing standard operating procedures and process documentation is an asset

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes:

Knowledge

  • Knowledge of First Nations community issues
  • Knowledge of health related programs and services within First Nations communities is an asset
  • Knowledge of historical and current culture of BC First Nations political structures and health environment is an asset
  • Knowledge of the FNHA Health Benefits program is an asset

Competencies

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills to assess health programs and services
  • Ability to summarize information into written documentation or briefing note format
