Reporting to the Coordinator of Information Technology, the incumbent will be responsible for the analysis, development, coordination and control of systems, methods and processes relating, among other things, to computer data processing, management and administrative operations and structures of communication, in order to ensure efficient use of college resources.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

Tasks - General

  • Project management, analysis, development, coordination and control of systems, methods and processes relating, among others, to computer data processing, management and administrative operations and structures of communication, in order to ensure efficient use of college resources.
  • Evaluate needs in their field of work, collect information from users and identify potential sources of problems.
  • Design and develop programs and make recommendations to provide solutions to problems that have been identified.
  • Coordinate and implement programs and updates, see that deadlines are respected and propose corrective measures as needed.
  • Document all aspects of systems development and write specifications, set up processes to update on a regular basis.
  • Carry out prospective and accounting studies and, as the case warrants, determine the means to integrate new user-friendly products to the processes of the college.
Tasks - Infrastructure

  • Provide documentation for the technological infrastructure of the college and prepare analysis documents and IT infrastructure diagrams.
  • Document and map out computer processes for all infrastructure solutions.
  • Document and map out network structure, links between buildings, software links, wireless network and backup copies.
  • Collaborate with the IT team for the installation and configuration of new technological equipment (servers, switches, terminals, computers, devices and specialized material).
  • Assist the IT coordinator for the preparation of plans and technical packages, the evaluation of service offers and the process to buy equipment.
  • Assist the IT coordinator to promote and maintain a culture of sharing information and knowledge, mutual support and team work.
  • Proceed to evaluate, integrate and set up hosted IT solutions.
Tasks - Systems

  • Participate in drafting and implementing a continuity plan for IT services.
  • Collaborate in the design, development and update of the college Website and intranet.
  • Prepare, draft and collect documentation to build the records for analysis, programming, systems and business processes, as well as reports and summaries, in accordance with the established practices and standards.
  • Document and map computer processes for all system solutions, collaborating with other managers of the college to define their respective roles (flow chart).
  • Evaluate, configure, implement, design and integrate solutions to organizational systems and processes, in order to protect access to data that is non-integrated, not linked, like "Skytech" systems or others.
  • Ensure the integrity, confidentiality and availability of data and the proper operation of facilities, equipment, hardware and technology systems.
Tasks - Information security

  • Assume the role of CSGI #2 (Coordonnateur Sectoriel de la Gestion des Incidents).
  • Analyze, develop, coordinate and control systems, methods and processes linked to information security and required infrastructure.
  • Set up a secure infrastructure, like antivirus tools, multi-factor authentication, equipment meeting the "15 steps" requirements of the Treasury Board for information security.
  • Under the authority of the IT coordinator, coordinate and implement information security solutions, keep them updated, see that deadlines are met and suggest necessary corrective actions.
  • Identify and set up measures to be taken with IT team, following security audits, phishing drills and vulnerability analysis.
  • Contribute to develop and implement security strategy and define policies, guidelines and procedures related to information security and IT, based on accepted standards and methods and aligned on risk management and regulatory requirements (protection of data, asset classification, identity and access management, management of arrival/departure of students, teachers and employees).
  • Assist the IT coordinator in planning, organizing and setting up procedures for backup copies, in connection with a schedule of tasks to be performed in collaboration with the IT team.
  • Contribute to a prevention plan for IT risks and to the annual plan to ensure security improvements.
  • Monitor the vulnerabilities detected by the surveillance tool of the COCD (Centre opérationnel en cyberdéfense) and ensure planning of corrective measures.
