General summary
The Health and Safety Advisor acts as an expert in the management of workers compensation files.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs workers' compensation case management;
  • Produce requests for medical expertise and various requests to the
CNESST;

  • Participate in accident investigations;
  • Communicate to managers the relevant information related to the management of employees light duties;
  • Ensure the smooth running of files at the various levels of dispute;
  • Prepare cost sharing requests to be submitted to the CNESST;
  • Produce data and reports related to their field of expertise;
  • Monitor the financial progress of files on a monthly basis and make strategic decisions to control costs;
  • Support colleagues in the area of prevention of incidents;
  • Tend to various health and safety committee tasks;
  • Carry out all other tasks and responsibilities assigned by management.

Job requirements and key competencies

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations or Human Resources or equivalent;
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in claims management;
  • Bilingualism (oral and written) required;
  • Thorough knowledge of occupational health and safety laws and regulations;
  • Excellent negotiation skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to priorize;
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills;
