Java Front End Developer

Our client is a US based (NYSE listed business) and they are looking for a Front-End Developer to focus on development, maintenance and back-end system administration of corporate retail websites, microsites and web applications. This position is remote during the pandemic but will eventually be based in the Toronto downtown area.

The ideal candidate would be required to work closely with creative design, business and UX teams to create HTML5/CSS3-based web properties for desktop, and mobile platforms. The developer should have a strong understanding of back-end programming architecture and technologies used to develop web projects. The developer should have a high level of knowledge of design toolsets, and the methods of transforming creative elements for use as HTML based content. A bachelor's degree or 5 years working equivalent in web development is required. This role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Front End Developer Responsibilities:
  • Extensive knowledge in HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Extensive knowledge in JavaScript/JQuery/Ajax.
  • Experience in responsive and adaptive design / development methodologies.
  • Experience with , Less, SaSS and
  • Experience in content management systems ex: AEM / SDL.
  • Experience in understanding and maintaining the principles of design.
  • Experience using design tools including, Photoshop, Illustrator and Axure
  • Knowledge of Omniture and other tracking software a plus.
  • Corporate and agency experience a considerable plus.
Front End Developer Requirements:

Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, effectively manage priorities and communicate progress.

  • Fresh ideas and diversity in development approach.
  • Ability to work in a large team environment.
  • Excellent communication verbal and written.

Relevant Work Experience/Requirements: 3- 5 years as a web developer.

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree/ or working equivalent
