Main Duties:

  • Maintain a sharp knife
  • Cut pork primal cuts for further cutting, processing or packaging using a trimming knife;
- remove bones from pork using a boning knife;

  • Cut pork into specific cuts for institutional, commercial or other wholesale use.
  • Retrieve hams from dumper
  • Derind each ham by placing hams on top of skinner
  • Whiz off ham fat on moving line to specification
  • Place fat pieces into chute
  • Ability to lift up to 15kgs

Requirements:

  • Good communication skills, both written and spoken English skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Experience using knives an asset but not necessary
  • Should display a positive and proactive attitude.
  • Ability to follow and execute instructions given by mangers/supervisors.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Knowledge of food hygiene processes and reporting.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety and Compliance procedures
