Position Overview
Under the direction of the Customer Care Manager, the Refurb. Technician is someone who performs a variety of warehouse duties in accordance with company policies and procedures. Duties include refurbishment of units and preventative maintenance visits. This is a non-supervisory position.

Qualifications

Education:

  • High school degree or GED required

Experience:

  • Previous assembly and repair experience
  • Ability to effectively operate all equipment and computer programs associated with the parts department
  • Mechanically inclined

Other Requirements:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail; ability to remain focused and organized
  • Ability to multitask and work independently
  • Valid driver's license required for occasional local travel between facilities
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs regularly, 50 lbs occasionally and 70+ lbs as a team lift or with material handling equipment

Responsibilities
Refurbishment &
CTS

  • Refurbish all returned consoles, equipment & parts
  • Evaluate whether units are worth refurbishing
  • Document all findings and repairs in an organized manner using excel
  • Maintain showroom equipment in Montreal
  • Monitor all used and returned equipment across Canada, specifically in the Montreal, Oakville and
Calgary warehouses

  • Track
    CTS returns and replacements
Preventative Maintenance

  • Visit accounts as assigned in the greater Montreal area (Vehicle provided by the company)
  • Perform maintenance checks in line with Matrix PM guidelines
  • Request part replacements through
    CTS and report all findings to
    CTS

Maintain Work Practices:

  • Maintain work environment to 5S standards
  • Punctual: begins work on time and returns from lunch and breaks on time

  • All paperwork and database entries filled out completely and accurately

Marginal Job Functions:

  • If volume of refurbishment is down, help pick and pack part orders
  • Other projects as assigned

Physical Demands / Work Environment

Physical Demands:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have the ability to lift 35 lbs regularly, 50 lbs occasionally and 70+ lbs as a team lift or with material handling equipment, climb a ladder, grasp small objects, and have visual acuity for operating the mechanical tools of the trade. Ability to regularly stand, walk, bend and reach.

Work Environment:

  • The performance of this position may occasionally require exposure to the manufacturing and warehouse areas where under certain areas require the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and mandatory hearing protection

Primary environment:
ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.
