Primary Objective


The
Service Technician is responsible for the installation, preventive maintenance, scheduled and emergency services on Vertiv (Liebert) Manufactured Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) products serviced by Vertiv.


PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Troubleshooting capabilities, simple relay calibration, use of load recording instrumentation, low and medium voltage switchgear testing through 15 KV class
  • Perform tasks such as testing of circuit breakers, switchgear and motor control centers
  • Electrical testing and maintenance of electrical power distribution systems
  • Busduct Installation, Inspection & Testing
  • Automatic transfer switch troubleshooting.

Minimum Qualifications:

Required experience (one or more of the following)

  • High school diploma or GED plus 1 year of relevant experience
  • Graduate Engineer BSEE with Power Systems Focus and no experience or an Associate Degree from an accredited 2year technical college in Electrical/Electronics Power, or similar experience and training from the military (Army Prime Power, Air Force Electrical Power Production, or NAVY Nuclear Electrician)
  • Good theoretical understanding of electrical power systems
  • Proficient with Microsoft office including Outlook, Word and Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with electrical / electronic test equipment and fundamentals

Requirements:

  • Render technical onsite and phone assistance to customers
  • Respond to emergency calls at customers request
  • Strive to provide all customers a 'first time fix' for their equipment
  • Provide accurate and timely communication to internal and external customers
  • Keep current on Safety Field Change Notices and Service Tips
  • Provide accurate and timely reporting of time cards, expense reports, etc.
  • Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and night work.
  • Must be available for outoftown travel at a minimum of 1525 weeks per year
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move 100pound test sets Possess a valid driver's license, and currently have and be able to maintain a good driving record

  • Report all work related accidents or injuries within 24 hours to the appropriate personnel
  • Attend customer safety orientation visits as required

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:


While performing duties of the above jobs, the associate is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, tools or other components; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk, hear and smell.

The associate frequently is required to sit and climb or balance.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Must have ability to regularly lift at least 75 pounds.
