Position Summary

Responsible for safe and effective operating Remotely Operated Vehicles systems while maintaining and repairing all associated systems and sub-systems including component replacement and troubleshooting.

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL


• Operate in accordance with Company Quality Health Safety and Environment policy, procedures, and objectives.

• Operate Launch and Recovery System equipment, Vehicle and Tether Management System functions (cameras, acoustic positioning system, sonar, manipulators).

• Co-pilot or pilot the ROV including evaluating the environment conditions and hazards, dock/undock from TMS, and navigate the ROV by acoustics, sonar and visual (video).

• Operate sub-sea navigational equipment including but not limited to magnetic compass, gyro, transducer, sonar, altimeter, and associated positioning equipment.

• Integrate and operate ancillary tooling including but not limited to injection and intervention skids, remote control units, smart torque tools.

• Use calibrated test equipment to perform maintenance and repairs on electrical, electronic, hydraulic, mechanical and termination fiber-optic equipment, assemblies, and subassemblies.

• Perform general housekeeping and fabric maintenance.

• Establish and maintain ROV system inventory.

• Working with electrical power circuit equipment including transformers, phase, current, and voltage monitoring, ground fault protection circuits and sub-sea motors.

• Working with hydraulic power equipment including pumps, motors, and cylinders.

• Working with video and data distribution equipment, coaxial cables, video monitors, video converters, video switchers, network modems, line drivers, serial ports, parallel port, fiber-optic multiplexers.

Qualifications

REQUIRED


• Highschool Diploma.

• Twelve months of electronic, electrical, hydraulic, or mechanical experience, training, or education (or combination of).

• Valid CAPP compliant offshore Basic Survival Training certification.

PREFERRED


• Experience as an ROV Technician (domestic or international).

• Engineering Technologist Diploma Programs; Computer, Electronic, Electrical, Instrumentation or Mechanical.

• Technician Diploma Programs; Remotely Operated Vehicles, Aircraft, Automotive, Instrumentation and Control, Heavy Duty Equipment, Wind Turbine, other.

• WHMIS, H2S Alive, Fall Protection, First Aid training.
