The General Manager - Aerospace NDT Services will have full responsibility for the business unit, which includes the financial performance, operations, and sales.

He/she will provide leadership in formulating and implementing strategy for sustainable profitable growth.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ACTIVITIES:

  • Oversee lab operation which includes staffing and equipment requirements while maintaining a safe and quality driven facility(s).
  • Manage, direct and support the Technical Director and the QA Manager.
  • Utilize key performance indicators to increase customer value.
  • Approve all lab expenditures.
  • In charge of employee retention, review, and individual development.
  • Collaborate with the sales team in identifying strategic targets and pricing strategies, contract review negotiation.
  • Works in conjunction with entire staff in order to continue to operate an extremely safe and quality driven facility.
  • Responsible for Safety, Quality, and Radiation Safety program compliance, and all statutory compliance.
  • Maintaining all business records, including customer and vendor data files.
  • Responsible for developing and adhering to annual budget which includes monthly P&L reviews.
  • Responsible for adherence to all company policies and procedures.
  • Accountable for lab safety performance.
  • Responsible for lab Profit and Loss statements and economic performance.
  • Oversee lab administrative functions to include payroll, timesheet audits and customer billing and approval of all lab expenditures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prior experience in a General Management role is preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of profit and loss accounting.
  • Experience in an industrial, nuclear, petrochemical, refining or utility related environment is required.
  • Prior experience in the Nondestructive Testing (NDT) industry and in the aerospace, environment is an asset.
  • College course work is highly desirable, but not required.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to mitigate customer and employee situations.
  • Must possess an understanding of MISTRAS' Advanced Technology offerings.
  • Bilingual (fluent in both English and French)

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Frequent lifting up to 30 lbs.
