Opportunity:

MacEwan University is seeking a Student Worker for a casual opportunity with the School of Continuing Education.

The School of Continuing Education is seeking a highly skilled student worker to join their team.

Reporting to the Marketing Manager, the student worker works with faculty, staff, and students in supporting various administrative tasks and providing assistance to staff members within the department.

This position offers an excellent opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in a professional work environment while balancing their academic commitments.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Gathering program specific information regarding requirements, electives, procedures, timelines, and general program facts for promotion purposes.
  • Gathering information from the program areas for promotional information relating to programs and instructors.
  • Entering survey questions into Qualtrics/survey monkey.
  • Updating fact sheets and flyers using Adobe InDesign.
  • Supporting staff members with various tasks as assigned, including research, scheduling, and preparing materials for events, social media, newsletters, and other projects.
  • Assisting in organizing and executing events and activities, including student orientations and graduations.
  • Assisting in creating and executing projects, managing timelines, and keeping stakeholders informed and on track.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by supervisor/s to support the department.

Qualifications

  • A current student completing a certificate, diploma, or undergraduate degree (MacEwan student would be preferred).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, Docs).
  • Cross cultural experience from student activities, work, volunteering, or study abroad would be considered an asset.
  • Professional social media experience (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn) would be considered an asset.
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign would be considered an asset.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
