Summary:
The Product Assembler assembles products for customers and display purposes according to manufacturer's specifications, as required. Items to be assembled include gas grills, bicycles and exercise equipment, ready to assemble furniture, lawn mowers, patio furniture, snow blowers, trailers, etc.

Main Responsibilities and Tasks:

Product assembler/Fixture coordinator - CONTRACT POSITION
This is a contract position beginning in July and ending late-September. We are in the middle of a major expansion project and we are seeking a handy person to assist with fixture coordination and product assembly.

  • You must have experience with and should be very comfortable using power tools.
  • Assembles products as required
  • This position will involve various tasks throughout the store.
  • You will be required to lift up to 40 pounds, and should be comfortable on a 6-foot ladder
  • You must have attention to detail, the ability to work both independently and within a small team, and must work well with tight deadlines
  • Resolves assembly problems to meet specifications.
  • Ensures quality assurance by inspecting assembled products and ensuring they are built according to specifications.
  • Reports any defective products to supervisor.
  • Performs product repairs, as required.
  • Uses proper tools and equipment for the job at hand.
  • Maintains a safe and clean working environment.

This is a full-time position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, hours will most likely be either 6:00am-2:30pm or 7:00am-3:30pm

Requirements:
  • Finger dexterity and finger aptitude.
  • Proficient in using various hand tools.
  • Experience in a product assembler role and/or with Canadian Tire store is considered an asset.
  • Strong orientation towards customer service excellence.
  • Effective reading skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and to demonstrate responsibility for outcomes.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to adapt and cope with changing situations.
  • Positive attitude, punctuality and work ethic.
