Intent of the process

A pool of partially or fully qualified candidates may be established to staff similar or identical positions at Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) in various locations with various linguistic profiles and/or requirements as well as tenures and/or security clearance(reliability or secret), which may vary according to the position being staffed.

Note: Successful placement in a pool does not guarantee an offer of employment.

Education

• Graduation with a degree from a recognized post-secondary institution* with an acceptable specialization in nursing, nursing service administration, nursing education or some other specialty relevant to the position. *Recognized post-secondary institution: Public or private institution that has been given authority to grant degrees, diplomas, and other credentials by a public or private act of a provincial/territorial legislature or through a government-mandated quality assurance mechanism. For greater certainty, also included are institutions authorized to grant specific academic credentials for specific academic programs. Candidates with foreign credentials must provide proof of Canadian equivalency. • Eligibility for registration as a registered nurse in a province or territory of Canada. Experience
• Experience in establishing and maintaining relationships with partners or stakeholders.

• Experience managing healthcare services and/or delivery.

• Experience in the planning, development, and/or evaluation of healthcare programming NOTE:

• Experience in managing and being accountable for a budget

• Experience in the management and allocation of human resources.

• Experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the area of practice of Public Health

• Experience working with Indigenous peoples and communities

• Experience providing healthcare in a geographically remote and/or isolated setting

• Continuous professional registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba with liability insurance as outlined by the governing body.

• Willingness and ability to perform on call duties, work after hours, and on weekends as required.

• Willingness and ability to complete mandatory education/training relevant to the position.

• Willingness and ability to travel in small aircraft, off road vehicles and by boat in varied weather conditions to communities in remote and isolated areas .
