This is a regular part-time Support position (up to 24 hours per week).

Part-time Support Staff employees, as defined by the part-time Support Staff Collective Agreement, will be given first consideration.

International Student Engagement is currently seeking an enthusiastic and reliable person to engage international students via social media platforms through a variety of approaches, and provide support to arriving students.

You must feel comfortable in a fast-paced environment, and working in collaboration with a larger team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Log contacts and changes in our shared student recording system accurately
  • Develop, post and update social media posts focused on engaging current international students via social media platforms through a variety of approaches
  • Monitor and provide metrics associated with Return on Engagement, including maintaining a joint social media calendar
  • Compile data and provide strategic changes to process to improve customer service and engagement for current students
  • Assist at peak times with transition and settlement activities (intake triage, orientation, tours)
  • Respond and support all arrival transition and settlement activities (intake triage, orientation) inperson and virtually
  • Engage current international students via social media platforms through a variety of approaches and provide metrics associated with Return on Engagement
  • Communicate information and answer questions from incoming and recently arrived international students in an accurate and timely manner (health insurance, fee deadlines, etc.)
  • Ensure all incoming students' arrivals and transition plans are received, and coordinate transportation bookings (when appropriate), verify enrollment status, and inform them of all required steps to ensure a smooth transition upon arrival to Canada
  • Compile and maintain a catalog of testimonials, current student success stories, etc., for use in all engagement campaigns

Qualifications

  • Postsecondary 2year diploma in Office Administration or related field
  • Minimum 2 years' recent and relevant experience (preferably in an office environment)
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines
  • Microsoft Office skills
  • Knowledge and skills to work in Instagram, Facebook, Discord social media platforms
  • Able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Flexible schedule
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and with groups with mínimal supervision
  • Working knowledge with Google Docs, Outlook, and communication platforms
  • Design skills an asset
