Job Summary

As a Veterinary Technician for our Toxicology team in Laval, your responsibilities will revolve around ensuring the well-being of our laboratory animals. Your efforts will be pivotal in maintaining both the animals' health and the integrity of our pre-clinical studies.

In this role, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Evaluating and monitoring the health status of animals under veterinary oversight
  • Collaborating closely with our veterinarians to prepare and execute treatment plans
  • Administering medical treatments, interventions, and diagnostic tests under veterinary supervision
  • Identifying potential animal welfare concerns and devising solutions

Key Elements

We are seeking individuals with the following minimum qualifications for this role:

  • College Diploma in Animal Health, Bioecology, or a related Animal Science discipline
  • Physical capability (lifting up to 20 kg, walking, standing, stooping, etc.)
  • Strong observation skills
  • Effective problem-solving abilities
  • Mandatory proficiency in written English; proficiency in both French and English is preferred

Upon being hired, please note that you will be required to undergo an annual tuberculosis test at the company's expense.

Role Specific Information:

  • Location: Laval / Free parking / Near Montmorency subway station
  • Salary: Starting at $19.50 per hour. There is an opportunity to commence at a higher level with relevant research experience, leading to a higher salary
  • Premiums: Weekend pay rate ($2.75 per hour)
  • Schedule: Weekdays, Monday to Friday. Overtime and weekend rotations may be required based on operational needs
  • Full-time permanent position from the start, 37.5 hours per week
