Miller is a leader in waste management and diversion, providing governments and industries with a wide range of services in the provinces of Ontario, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Manitoba.

Miller has over 50 years' experience in the waste management sector, and currently operates out of more than 30 locations.


Responsibilities:

In the position of a Chute Cleaner, your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with occupational Health& Safety Act.
  • Cleaning garbage chutes, linen chutes, and waste containers.
  • Daily use of standard handtools and pressure washing equipment.
  • Help with set up and tear down of light equipment at job sites.
  • Conducting inspections on recycling equipment such as compactors and garbage chutes, and inspections and repairs on waste containers
  • Completing quoted service orders and service calls as needed
  • Emergency after hour service, as needed.
  • Always Providing exceptional customer service and communicating with management and maintenance staff at each location.
  • Daily circle checks of work vehicles and maintaining material level of work vehicles
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Have the ability to work independently and follow procedures.
  • WHMIS training is considered an asset.
  • Previous mechanical and hydraulics experience is desirable.
  • Selfmotivated and a team player.
  • Must possess a valid G license in good standing
  • Flexibility is also required as this position occasionally requires travel, early starts, late finishes and, on rare occasions, weekend work.
