Overall Responsibility This is a highly engaging and rewarding role for an Accounting professional looking to join a dedicated team.
The successful candidate will provide support to the Accounting Team at Plaza Premium Group CanadaKey Areas of Duties and ResponsibilityReview orders, invoices and cost allocation through CheckSCM inventory system, and ensure accuracy of financial results generated by the system.
Provide necessary support to the team during new financial system implementation.Prepare & submit EPO to approvers with all supporting emails and documentation.
Verify and reconcile invoices and supporting documents with orders, quotations, and contracts to ensure proper due diligence before releasing payments to vendorsReview AP aging reports and make payment request to HQ, and manage communication with suppliers.
Manage communication with the vendors and resolve outstanding items and invoices on a timely basis.Provide finance support and guidance to the Operations team in managing purchases and costs, and support Procurement with vendor management and new vendor set up.
Provide support to GSC team during month end to capture all accruals; review and identify any discrepancies in expenses in the P&L.Reconcile vendor accounts and accounts with Airport Authorities to ensure Airport dues are cleared based on agreement signed with Airport authorities.
Close Revenue and AR at month end and manage billings/collections with customers to ensure there are no overdue invoices which can impact the cash flow and bad debts provisionCreate robust financial models and reports to improve the financial reporting processProvide support to the Finance Director during month-end closing and with any ad-hoc requests.
Conditions of EmploymentOccasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand Valid CPIC clearance (Criminal Records check) and/or Vulnerable Sector Check; Reference Check Ability to work independently Flexibility and adaptability to a high energy and a continually changing work environment QualificationsUniversity Degree or College diploma with a background in Accounting or Finance.
Minimum 2 years of relevant work experienceEnrollment in a designated accounting program would be considered an asset but is not requiredProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and AccessExperience with ERP systems and system implementations and conversions considered an asset.
Pass Airport Security ClearanceSelf-motivated, independent, proactive and able to deliver quality results under tight schedules-
