Job Summary:
Reporting to the General Manager, support company goals in the effective, efficient, and timely approval process. Must know, practice, and ensure that company policies and procedures, provincial and federal laws are always followed. Ensure that no company or customer information is inappropriately divulged to unauthorized parties.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Perform various tasks for month end close
  • Process AR credits, policy adjustments and arbitrations in accordance with established procedures and company guidelines
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of all bank accounts
  • Responsible for Journal Entry processing
  • Reconcile selected balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare reports, ensures payments and/or collection of accounts are up to date
  • Process intercompany entries
  • Tracking of fixed assets at the business unit level
  • Review and process weekly manager reports such as Pending Charges, Compliance reports and other managerial reporting.
  • Help with accounts payable processing, determine appropriate accruals as part of month end close.
  • Review and resolve credit items from customer daily
  • Alert superiors of customers unwilling or unable to pay when necessary as well as clients that are not providing proper remittance information from their payments
  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service
  • Perform all other ad hoc requests as necessary
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies.
  • Other administrative accounting duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/ REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must have 23 years' experience on general accounting functions.
  • Post Secondary School education in accounting equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office environment (Word, Excel)
  • Proficient in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Gmail)
  • Proven ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • PeopleSoft knowledge an asset
  • Experience in a customer service environment an asset
