Are you looking for an exciting and challenging opportunity to make a difference in the field of Child & Youth Care? Yellowhead Youth Centre is a Campus Based Treatment Centre for youth with significant or severe emotional and behavioural therapeutic treatment needs.

We are currently recruiting three Temporary Program Supervisor positions at the Centre.


As the Program Supervisor, you will ensure treatment programs are consistent with ministry objectives, business plan goals, resources, policies, and quality control processes to support the program delivery of the centre.

This may include providing input into existing program policies and procedures, developing new programs, and ensuring they are implemented and followed appropriately by all staff at YYC.

These include operational decision making for two 10 bed programs with 6 direct team leader reports, along with supervision of other centre programs as assigned by the Manager or the Associate Director.


This position will also involve managing performance, establishing performance expectations, conducting performance reviews based on observable performance, and completing annual assessments within designated time frames.

Participating in the recruitment process for YYC may also a responsibility of this position.

An ability to information and communicate effectively verbally and in writing is essential.

Qualifications:

Education:


Degree or diploma in Child & Youth Care or degree or diploma in a directly related field, plus five (5) years of progressively responsible related experience is required.


Experience in a campus based treatment setting with 3-5 years of experience as a Child & Youth Care Worker 2 or 3-5 years of other supervisory experience in a related field is preferred.

Certification with the Child and Youth Care Association of Alberta is preferred.

You must have a Valid Class 5 Drivers License; First Aid Certificate and Suicide Prevention Certificate considered an asset.

Other Requirements include:


Ability to perform physically demanding work, participate in recreational activities; ability to work in a stressful environment and ability to provide evening/weekend on-call support on a rotational basis.

Salary:

$2,705.14 to $3,496.56 bi-weekly. ($70,604 to $91,260 / year)

A salary review is in progress and may result in this salary being increased on September 1, 2023.

Notes:

We are looking to fill three temporary positions.

Hours of Work are Monday to Friday and 38.75 hours per week (full-time).

There will be a requirement to work beyond the scheduled workday along with weekends and on-call responsib
