Brandt Heavy Equipment Field Technician

Brandt is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Field Technician for our Milton location. This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments in a field environment.

Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Evaluate the working condition, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment
  2. Use secondary materials, hand and power tools, computer systems, and related instruments safely and efficiently
  3. Accurately document all machine information, actions taken, and time taken on work orders
  4. Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely
  5. Utilize computer applications and information systems for maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
  6. Locate and order parts from parts catalogues
  7. Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required
Required Skills
  • Ability to effectively communicate with customers, service team, and branch personnel
  • Outstanding knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Proven computer and technical aptitude for diagnostics and calibration work
  • Demonstrated diagnostic skills for mechanical and technical equipment repair needs
  • Strong time-management skills to perform effectively under pressure
  • Strong communication skills, understanding customer needs
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues
  • Commitment to high-quality customer service and can lift up to 50 pounds
Required Experience
  • Certified Journeyperson in the Heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment
  • Experience with electrical diagnosis/troubleshooting and aftertreatment systems
  • Commitment to customer service and service excellence
