Ophthalmic Technician
Carrot Health - Oakville & Brampton
Objectives:
Provide optimum patient care in a fast
- paced ophthalmology clinic.
Responsibilities:
- Greet patients respectfully, pleasantly, professionally and be able to convey concern, relate tactfully and sympathetically at all times.
- Understand the patient registration and informed consents and be able to present.
- Check out patients in a timely and efficient manner to maintain a steady workflow.
- Assist in other departments when needed, front desk and call centre.
- Able to collect the patient's medical history and document.
- Able to do visual acuity workups and assist the doctor needs in prepping and pretesting the patients.
- Experience with OCT, VF, IOL Master, AScan, Tonometry and other tests.
- Ensures that the clinic areas are maintained in accordance to guidelines.
Must have access to a reliable vehicle and able to travel between clinics in Oakville and Brampton
:
- Able to work a flexible schedule with some weekend clinics.
- Maintain a neat and clean work environment and professional appearance.
Education & Skills:
- Ophthalmology Diploma preferred but relevant experience is considered an asset as well.
- Ability to follow process and procedures as directed.
- Ability to think as you work and catch things that might be missed through testing.
- Proactive personality with the ability to think and work independently and not just waiting for the queues to begin.
- Able to work under pressure and multitask in a fast paced environment, while providing a high degree of professionalism.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with strong customer service skills.
- Interest in the health care field and willingness to learn various roles within the clinic.
- Maintain confidentiality of patients and organization at all times.
- Experience in Ophthalmology and Oscar Clinical Management System is an asset

Social Distancing in place, all employees and patients are required to wear a mask at all times. Sanitize their hands periodically. Facility Sanitation done regularly.
