The Business Assurance group of Intertek offers a range of business process audit and support services, including management systems certification, custom supplier audits, and training, to ensure customer management systems are optimized for successful growth.



Job Function:

To lead and/or participate as an assessor during all phases of a Supplier Management system audit aligning with Intertek and Client social, environmental, quality, and security programs. The Lead Auditor acts as the primary client interface throughout all auditing activities and plays a key role in training junior auditors. Strong leadership, independence, and technical expertise are essential for successful audit assignments.

A Lead Auditor oversees a team of auditors, schedules work, evaluates performance, and reports findings to the Certification Authority.

The Lead Auditor interacts extensively with clients to evaluate and audit supplier sites. Duties include managing audits, recommending registrations, evaluating supplier systems, conducting assessments, and reporting findings to clients.

Duties:
  • Managing all phases of assessments/audits and registration recommendations.
  • Planning and scheduling assessments/audits, coordinating with team members.
  • Representing the assessment team and the company.
  • Evaluating supplier sites, reporting non-compliances.
  • Reviewing social, environmental, quality, and security documentation.
  • Conducting audits to assess supplier management systems.
  • Holding opening and closing meetings with suppliers.
  • Producing reports for the Client and/or Certification Authority.
  • Assisting with lower-tier auditor training and client visits.
  • Conducting audits as per client agreements and submitting reports promptly.
  • Managing and performing system audits.
  • Evaluating clients for compliance to program standards.
  • Discussing corrective actions with clients.
  • Providing on-the-job training for auditors.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • University-level degree and/or 1+ years of professional auditing experience.
  • APSCA CSCA candidates preferred.
  • English/French bilingual preferred.
  • Ability to travel extensively (100% travel).
  • Effective communication skills in the assessment/audit language.
  • Strong leadership, analytical, and time management skills.
  • Ability to understand and communicate legislative requirements.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Ability to ascend/descend various structures.
  • Effective spoken communication skills.
  • Ability to perceive sounds and exert physical force.
  • Close visual acuity for tasks involving data analysis, reading, and inspection.
