Hatch Kids Learning Centre offers preschool programs for children 3 to 5 years old and school-aged (5 to 12 years old) programs in the heart of Richmond, BC.

We are inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach and the emergent curriculum, with a focus on children emotional, social, and academic growth.

This is an on-call position. We are looking for a passionate Out-of-School-Care (OSC) substitue educators to join our team.

We are looking for dedicated and enthusiastic team-players who will collaborate with other educators on our team to create a unique curriculum catered to the children in the program.

You are punctual and responsible with good organizational and leadership skills. You are fun, engaging, and flexible, but also comfortable with setting classroom limits and expectations.

You are confident in working in a program with 20 children and are interested in being a hands-on facilitator in their learning.


Responsibilities:

  • Implementing an enriching curriculum planned by educators
  • Able to work alongside another educator with up to 20 schoolaged children
  • Adhering to all licensing regulations
  • Maintaining a positive and professional relationship with parents, guardians, and teachers
  • Monitoring and engaging children during indoor and outdoor activities
  • Keeping program facilities and equipment safe and clean

Requirements:

  • 20 hours or Responsible Adult Training or equivalent as required by BC Childcare Licensing
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR-C & AED certificate required
  • A clear criminal record check
  • Must be at least 19 years of age
  • A valid ECE or ECEA certificate an asset
  • An uptodate immunization record
  • Minimum 1 years experience working with children ages years old

Employment terms:

  • Salary: $16 $20/hour depending on experience plus 4% vacation pay
Applicants must be fluent in written and spoken English and hold valid permits to work in Canada
