Edmonton, Alberta, Canada Treaty 8 Urban Child Full time

At Treaty 8 Urban Child & Family Services (CFS) Office, we are committed to empowering Indigenous youth and providing them with opportunities for growth and success.

We are currently seeking a passionate and dedicated Male Youth Ambassador to join our team and make a positive impact on the lives of Treaty 8 youth.

Reporting to the Child and Youth Liaison Lead, the Male Youth Ambassador will play a key role in promoting leadership, mentorship, and advocacy for Treaty 8 youth.

The Youth Ambassador will actively contribute to planning, coordinating, and enhancing a variety of youth development activities and programs that cater to the unique cultural needs of Treaty 8 youth.

Collaborate with the Treaty 8 UCFS team to engage in youth-focused activities and consultations.
Empower Treaty 8 youth by providing guidance, role modeling, and support in setting individual goals.
Advocate for the needs of Treaty 8 youth and assist them in accessing additional resources and services.
Utilize various social media platforms to promote Treaty 8 UCFS youth programs and activities.
Plan and implement community events that contribute to the personal wellness of Treaty 8 youth.
Develop and maintain partnerships with community services and programs to address youth needs.
Stay informed about social concerns, trends, and attend professional development activities to support Indigenous youth.
Coordinate and support the establishment of active youth representation (e.g., a youth committee).
Certificate, Diploma in Child and Youth Care Program or a related field.
Strong understanding of youth development principles, techniques, and resources.
Experience in facilitating workshops and engaging with youth.
Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Team Meeting or Zoom).
Flexible availability to provide services on weekdays, evenings, and weekends.

Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector and Child Intervention (Welfare Check) - current within three months, and a three-year Driver's Abstract.

Valid class 5 driver's license, reliable transportation with $2 million liability insurance.
Knowledge and understanding of Treaty 8 First Nations community, culture, and language (asset).
