Successful candidates may be eligible for a $10,000 signing bonus and up to $5,000 of relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
Reporting to the Health Services Manager (HSM), the staff perfusionist and The Department of Perfusion Services (Perioperative Care Division) supports patients undergoingCardiac surgery through the provision of cardiovascular perfusion services at the Halifax Infirmary (adult), and the Isaak Walton Killam Health Center (pediatrics).
Perfusion services also provides support for ECMO, Sugarbaker procedures, ventricular assist devices, balloon pumps and blood recovery systems for a variety of proceduresincluding liver transplant.
Support is provided at both the adult and paediatric sites.Graduate of an accredited school of Perfusion Technology.
~ Possession of a recognized degree in a science or health care discipline an asset
~2 years of clinical perfusion experience an asset, but recent graduates are encouraged to apply
~ Experience with adult and pediatric cardiopulmonary bypass procedures is an asset
~ Preference will be given to candidates with an interest in research and quality assurance development
~ Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
