As a Production Supervisor, you will supervise Concord Dairy Production Business Unit Area (Fresh Cheese or Yellow Cheese) across all shifts, to ensure that products are processed according to Arla Foods standards and in line with business needs and strategies.

About the role

Reporting to the Production and Packaging Manager, you will:

  • Lead, coach and develop team and individuals including providing feedback and conducting formal evaluations
  • Develop and implement strategies and actions to ensure EHS, Quality and legal standards are met
  • Communicate and co-ordinate with other supervisors and managers to ensure site goals and strategies are met
  • Foster a continuous improvement culture with employees and ensure CI activities in area of responsibility are sought and implemented; identify, develop and implement process improvements
  • Define resource requirements, work planning and engage in employee scheduling activities, including tracking hours
  • Ensure that products are processed/packed in accordance with Arla Foods standards, including HACCP and applicable legislation
  • Participate in the development and execution of Concord Dairy's KPI's and business plan
  • Support LEAN implementation and ensure engagement from everyone within departments
  • Identification and elimination of hazards; execution of health promotion and related health and safety training and compliance
  • Motivate staff to ensure the customer (internal and external) remains prominent in the execution of departmental activities, with the goal of achieving positive customer experience management within Arla
  • Provide documentation of all transactions and perform cycle counts at regular intervals to maintain accurate inventory levels, ensuring FIFO procedures to ensure proper stock rotation
  • Ensure that areas are kept clean and organized condition, following company GMPs
  • Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and packaging materials and work with stakeholders to ensure efficient and timely delivery of required components to meet schedule and financial targets
  • Report on designated KPI's, including investigation and presentation of proactive solutions to resolve negative trending
  • Create employee ownership and engagement using a collaborative approach, through the implementation of regular department communication updates and sharing
  • Develop departmental SOP's that incorporate safety, quality, cost and delivery aspects of the area functions, ensuring execution
  • Responsible for evaluating staff competencies, developing training program and ensuring training execution, in accordance with department SOP's and business plans

Who are you?

You will have a minimum of two years' experience leading a dairy/food production team, with a preference for previous experience in the Cheesemaking process. You will have completed a post-secondary courses, ideally with a degree or diploma in a related field.

You are a strong leader who is independent, with strong communication skills and a continuous improvement focus and mindset.
