Responsibilities:


The primary purpose of this role is to deliver, maintain and manage Project Services deliverables for the first phase our client project.

This includes implementing standard and robust Project Services tools, procedures and work processes reflecting the assessed risk parameters for each project.


The Project Controls Quantity Surveyor shall work within the client's project services team to drive delivery and performance at site by providing scheduling, earned value and cost control expertise.


The position reports directly to the Project Services Manager and will be based in either of the module fabrication yard or site construction site.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate assigned day to day activities with the project team.
  • Interact with client representatives, vendors, module fabrication contractor, and construction contractors on a daily basis.
  • Assist senior staff in the compilation of data to monitor individual contract performance on a monthly and quarterly basis.
  • Participate and comply with all safety programs, be a champion for safety.
  • Ensure adherence to the client Standards and Expected Practices, guides and procedures and project specific work processes.
  • Review construction schedules submitted by contractors to ensure compliance with the project guidelines. Analyze schedule logic, activity durations, constraints, float, resource loading, etc.
  • Proactively work with the Construction contractors to ensure schedules are accurately progressed in accordance with the approved progress measurement plan.
  • Perform schedule analysis to track deltas between planned and actual dates and durations. Create a statistical understanding of planned data versus actual outcomes and provide project team with options to mitigate schedule delays and identify opportunities.
  • Participate in constructability reviews and interactive planning meetings for projects.
  • Develop an efficient progress measurement solution to progress construction activities. Align solution with defined construction work areas and packages and Construction contractor inputs.
  • Validate project performance and progress against the established plan using earned value methodology.
  • Measure and attest installed quantities as per MTO/BOQs on regular basis to support progress measurement and verification of value of work done (VOWD).
  • Audit "asbuilt" installed quantities on site and validate against IFC drawings / documentation.
  • Support cost management utilizing client's cost management and finance tools (as necessary).
  • Review contractors' cost estimates, budgets, forecasts, and cash flow projections.
  • Support project change management procedure and process field change requests.
  • Deliver closeout data to enable knowledge retention (lessons learned, project data compilation) at completion of work.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10+ years industry experience in project services positions across all project phases.
  • BSc. Degree and/or Certification in Project Controls or equivalent.
  • A comprehensive understanding of construction techniques and practices and experience working with construction contractors.
  • Thorough understanding of Project Controls principals.
  • Skill level in scheduling and earned value management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication skills and ability to integrate across the different disciplines and functions.
  • Team player comfortable with handling high workloads and balancing multiple priorities and complex stakeholder interactions in a collaborative way.
  • Personal demonstration of strong HSSE commitment.
  • Proficient using Primavera P
  • Proficient using MS Office suite of software (e.g. Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in working with contractor suite of planning, cost, MOC, etc. tools is considered an advantage.
  • Good IT skills and the ability to learn how to use specialist software.
  • Good knowledge of measurement and valuation.
  • Good knowledge of standard forms of contract.
