This is what you'll be doing:

Under the direction of the Adult Outpatient Mental Health Manager, the incumbent provides assistance to physicians, inpatient hospital, outpatient and community teams to coordinate the development of community treatment orders (CTOs).


Coordinators ensure proper process is followed, including completing appropriate forms and documentation, accessing rights advice, and facilitating the development of a comprehensive community treatment plan that addresses an individual's treatment and support needs when they are discharged from an inpatient hospital setting or they are placed on a CTO in the community.

Individuals eligible for this service need to meet criteria for a CTO as detailed in the Mental Health Act.

  • Current registration with respective regulatory College is required
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills needed
  • Organizational skills and ability to multi task
  • Must be flexible and demonstrate an ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
  • Liaise with community partners, family physicians and case managers
  • Excellent problem solving and conflict/crisis resolution skills
  • Excellent knowledge of the Mental Health Act and other related legislation
  • Ability to adapt to the demands of a constantly changing workload
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record
  • Other duties as assigned
