EPC Canada is a dynamic, fast-growing company. It is 100% owned by the EPC Group, an international manufacturer of commercial explosives with extensive experience and expertise in storage and distribution in the mining, construction and quarrying industries.
EPC Canada is looking for a
Blaster helper for its explosives distribution and blasting operations at its
Côté Gold site
in Ontario.
He will also be called upon to operate some of the heavy machinery used in the mine department (Bobcat, loader, etc.).
Roles & responsibilities
- Support the blaster in site preparation;
- Take inventory of explosive products;
- Fill (tamp) boreholes;
- Install detonators under the supervision of the blaster;
- Measure blasting holes;
- If necessary, drive a backhoe loader with a sidedump bucket;
- Prime the holes;
- Assist technical staff during implementation;
- Load and unload explosives trucks;
- Any other related tasks requested by the blaster.
Skills and qualifications required
- Exemplary attitude and safety behaviour;
- High school diploma or equivalent;
- 1 to 3 years' experience as a blaster's helper or in an equivalent field;
- Be in good physical shape;
- Enjoy working outdoors all the time in variable weather conditions;
- Have a good customer approach;
- Show initiative and be a team player;
- Use your judgment;
- Have a positive attitude.
