Inside Sales Representative - Automotive


Venture Steel has emerged as a leading flat-rolled metal processor and distributor focused upon providing industry-best service in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.

An intense service culture, combined with modern processing equipment and our proprietary SSCM software platform, enable us to provide not only industry-best service but also visibility on order status for every customer, every time.

The Inside Sales Representative is responsible for generating sales and fulfilling all contractual obligations through the efficient management of their accounts and customer relations.

Under the guidance of an Account Manager in tandem with other teams, to align with departmental sales goals and strategic plans.


Education

  • 34 year college diploma or university degree in Business or related field.

Experience

  • Steel industry and/or related sales experience is valued.

Knowledge & Skills

  • Microsoft Office with a keen understanding of Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint;
  • College level mathematics skills are required;
  • Previous steel experience and product knowledge is an asset;
  • Attention to detail with accuracy of data inputs is critical;
  • Proven ability to produce and analyze sales reports;
  • Sense of urgency;
  • Knowledge of sales performance metrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process orders from end to end;
  • Check data accuracy in orders and invoices;
  • Contact clients to obtain missing information or answer queries;
  • Communicate important feedback from customers internally;
  • Ensure sales targets are met and report any deviations;
  • Set up new accounts;
  • Maintain and update customer records/information;
  • Liaise with the Logistics department to ensure timely deliveries;
  • Contribute with other sales team members to obtain and service our customers and coordinate with purchasing, scheduling, production, shipping, quality and finance promoting our core value of providing industry leading customer service by ensuring the smooth operation and delivery of material.
