We are seeking an upbeat, amiable individual with great customer service skills and a flexible schedule to join the Circulation Department. This permanent, year-round position has shifts at both Aspen Drive and Cook Park Libraries. Multilingual ability welcome. Cook Memorial Public Library District serves 61,000 residents from two full-service locations: Aspen Drive Library, 701 Aspen Drive, Vernon Hills, IL, and Cook Park Library at 413 N. Hours:

Averages 24 hours per week and includes a variety of part-time day, evening, and weekend hours.

• Friday shifts vary 8:45 am - 2 pm, 1 pm - 6 pm, 8:45 am - 6 pm
• Weekend shifts on a 4-week rotation

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Check materials in and out to library patrons
• Take payment for purchases and lost/damaged materials
• Register library cards
• Process reserved materials
• Greet patrons and answer their questions

Requirements:

• High school diploma
• Proficient with computers
• Detail-oriented with good organizational skills
• Strength to move library materials, bend, and stand for extended periods
• Flexibility in filling additional shifts
• Able to work at both Cook Park and Aspen Drive Libraries

Salary and Benefits:

$16per hour, 457 savings plan, Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, paid leave, scheduled holiday pay, paid parental leave, premium pay on Sundays. Cost of living and merit increases
