A key component of the Financial Crime and AML/ATF department's mission is to monitor transactions and carry out independent investigations to protect the Bank's assets and reputation, and to ensure that regulatory requirements relating to money laundering and terrorist financing are being adhered to.

When necessary, Financial Crime and AML/ATF carries out an analysis of potential AML/ATF risks and sources of vulnerability and applies risk mitigation measures.

This position is within the High-Risk Customer Group. The Analyst's main duty is taking over Customer Due Diligence (CDD) cases and carrying out the necessary AML/ATF/-related analyses. In addition, he or she will provide support in using work tools and methods, analysis techniques and AML/ATF strategies.

The analyst will share his or her expertise and recommendations for complex cases and help in determining the recommended risk mitigation measures.


The analyst will serve as a liaison between internal and external partners to ensure sound risk management and to provide solutions as efficiently as possible when problems arise.


Under the supervision of his or her manager, the analyst will work in close collaboration with any Advisor to serve as liaison between the Bank, regulatory authorities and other financial institutions' AML/ATF risk management functions.

The analyst will report to the Manager, Sanctions, Anti-Bribery and Anti-Corruption and High Risk Customer Group.

Responsibilities:

  • Take over complex cases, identify indicators that might influence interventions or advance files in his or her field of activities and determine the best risk mitigation strategy;
  • Carry out indepth research and analyses on clients posing a potential AML/ATF risk and identify the risks posed, in line with the applicable methodology.
  • Manage timelines and produce regulatory reports within prescribed timeframes;
  • Update profiles of clients considered at risk according to the risk mitigation standards published in the Anti-Money Laundering and Anti-Terrorism Financing Policy (monitor files with branch network managers or from the group's other subsidiaries, update profiles, escalate highrisk cases to senior management, etc.);
  • Collect and analyse data obtained from clients, merchants, financial institutions and other corporate entities to accumulate evidence relevant to analyses, while respecting regulatory timeframes;
  • Offer support and advice to the Bank's internal partners;
  • Produce quality reports containing specific MLTF risks recommendations;
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of analytical methods and the upgrading of internal processes and systems;
  • Contribute to establishing internal processes and creating internal procedures;
  • Keep updated on current legislation and the Bank's policies, programs and procedures; track market trends;
  • Perform any other related tasks.

Qualifications:

  • University degree in administration, accounting, finance, law or other relevant field and three years of relevant experience in a related field;
  • Full understanding of the main AML/ATF principles;
  • Knowledge of international sanctions;
  • Work experience in the financial institution field;
  • Knowledge of risk management;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills;
  • Excellent analysis and summarizing skills; good judgment;
  • Autonomy and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously;
  • Customer focused;
  • Flexibility and adaptability;
  • Autonomy, initiative and leadership;
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.

ASSETS:

  • CAMS Certification (Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist)
