About Us:

Regina Beach Yacht Club (RBYC), established in 1913, stands as one of the oldest private member boating facilities in Western Canada.

Located just 45 minutes away from Regina, RBYC boasts a full-service marina and clubhouse.

A third party operator runs the on-site restaurant, which is open to the public and offers stunning views of Last Mountain Lake.

The club's allure lies in its exclusive member amenities.

These include boat moorage, discounted dockside fuel service, day docks, a private beach, a cozy member lounge, storage facilities, and a vibrant kids club, along with a variety of recreational, social, and family events.


Position Overview:

The General Manager (GM) is a pivotal role at the RBYC, embodying the essence of leadership, financial stewardship, and exceptional member engagement.

The GM is entrusted with the critical responsibility of developing the annual plan and budget, and diligently executing against that budget to ensure the financial vitality of the club.

The GM will work on-site during the boating season and remotely during the off-season. During the boating season, this role demands substantial dedication in terms of time and effort. Conversely, in the off-season, the GM will fulfill their responsibilities remotely, with a noticeably lighter workload and time commitment.

Although the position offers a year-round salary, the GM is permitted to pursue additional income-generating opportunities during these quieter months if they desire.


As the financial custodian, the GM is accountable for the overall financial performance of the RBYC, ensuring that revenue streams from membership sales, boat moorage, dockside fuel service, parking, and other member amenities are optimized, while expenses are managed prudently.

The GM is also the chief orchestrator of a seamless, positive, and memorable member experience. This entails setting a welcoming, fun, and engaging tone and culture that resonates through every interaction at the RBYC.

The GM ensures that the daily operations run smoothly, and that the member experience is one that is not only satisfying but keeps members and guests excited to return.


A significant part of the GM's role involves managing seasonal staff with a focus on fostering a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing work environment.

The GM sets the standard for excellence, ensuring that tasks are completed timely and to the highest standards, thereby contributing to the seamless, positive, and welcoming ambiance of the RBYC.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning and Financial Management:

  • Develop, present, and gain approval for the annual plan and budget, aligning with the club's longterm strategic objectives.
  • Monitor and manage the financial performance of the club, ensuring adherence to the budget, optimizing revenue streams, and exercising prudent expense management.
  • Regularly report to the board, providing insights and offering recommendations for financial stability and growth.

Operational Excellence:

  • Oversee the daily operations of the club, ensuring a seamless and highquality member and guest experience.
  • Ensure the readiness and maintenance of club facilities and amenities including the marina, dockside fuel service, clubhouse, and property grounds.
  • Implement efficient and standardized operational procedures/processes and standards that promote safety, compliance, and exceptional service delivery; iterate and improve regularly.
  • Establish and approve workloads, work methods, and performance standards.
  • Direct purchasing, receiving, storage, issuing, preparation, and control of all products, supplies, and equipment.
  • Ensure all club facilities are meticulously maintained to the highest possible standard and 'presentationready' each and every day throughout the season.

Staff/Vendor Management and Culture Building:

  • Recruit, train, and manage seasonal staff, fostering a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and membercentric service.
  • Set clear performance expectations, provide regular feedback, and promote a positive, inclusive, and highperforming work environment.
  • Lead by example in setting the tone and culture of the club, embodying the values of hospitality, respect, and excellence.
  • Oversee payroll and employee sick, personal, and vacation time.
  • Give direction and work closely with vendors, outside contractors, firms, and individuals providing services to the club.

Member Engagement and Satisfaction:

  • Engage with members to understand their needs, preferences, and feedback, ensuring a responsive and personalized member experience.
