Under the supervision of the Director of Pharmacy Operations, the colleague is responsible for receiving, preparing, and dispensing prescriptions accurately and quickly. They must ensure that stock levels are sufficient to meet patient needs, advise patients by providing appropriate documentation, interact in a friendly, positive, and proactive manner with all internal and external clients, raise awareness and inform clients as part of public relations activities, supervise and provide advice and guidance to staff, and be accountable for the department's financial and operational success.

What you will do:

  • Supervise and provide advice and guidance to staff
  • Oversee hiring and performance management of personnel
  • Be responsible for departmental financial and operational success
  • Prepare and dispense medications accurately and quickly to patients
  • Ensure adequate stock levels of medications and over-the-counter supplements to meet patient needs
  • Advise patients on new medication additions in a friendly, positive, and proactive manner
  • Raise awareness and inform clients in public relations activities
  • Quickly find positive solutions to patient needs and physician requests or issues
  • Review and assess budgeted sales and net contribution
  • Identify and report sales opportunities, internally and externally
  • Review and control costs at all levels of Loblaw Pharmacy

What you need:

  • Bachelor of Science (Pharmacy degree) and a license or permit to practice
  • At least three years of experience in a retail environment
  • Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong personnel management skills and ability to motivate and mentor others
  • Superior customer relations skills and high professionalism
  • Proven ability to grow business using community-focused marketing strategies
  • Strong problem-solving skills and experience in developing and implementing action plans
  • Solid computer skills and knowledge of KROLL pharmacy software, a significant asset
