This is a role that offers flexibility and can be based in either Halifax, N.S or Victoria B.C.

Position Summary:
Thales Canada seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer to assist in its Non-Combatant In-Service Support Programs for the Royal Canadian Navy. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will collaborate with the Thales LCMM & Engineering Team, handling marine systems and mechanical technical support for various Royal Canadian Navy Non-Combatant Platforms.

  • Manage the preparation and update of marine system technical documentation.
  • Provide technical support for equipment deficiencies.
  • Conduct technical investigations into equipment malfunctions.
  • Analyze requirements for ship configuration changes.
  • Perform Life Cycle and Materiel Management functions.
  • Prepare work scopes for quotations from external resources.
  • Implement engineering changes and work packages.
  • Conduct design calculations and reviews for systems and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Marine or Mechanical Engineering.
Currently registered as a Professional Engineer (P. Eng.) in a Canadian Province, transferable to Ontario or Nova Scotia.
Minimum 10 years of experience as a Mechanical Engineer in the marine industry.

Language: English (Essential).

Previous experience in Royal Canadian Navy or Canadian Coast Guard.
Experience in providing marine in-service support for operational assets.
Demonstrated experience working with a defense contract.Special Position Requirements:
Schedule: 40 hours per week.

Physical Environment:
Hybrid position - a mix of remote work and onsite presence.

Travel:
Occasional domestic or international travel may be required.

The expected Total Target Compensation (TTC) for this role is 96,004.00 CAD Annually. The Company may offer additional benefits depending on circumstances not related to an applicant's legal status.
