Job Description:


The Food Production Assistant works to prepare food production for service within the Food Services department following all par stocks while maintaining a hygienic work area.

The incumbent will assist in stocking and cleaning of area tools when necessary.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Washes, cuts, and properly stores food items as per directions and/or par stocks while ensuring a clean and sanitized work area;
  • Ensures proper labels are utilized for items;
  • Stocks product, sweeps area, empties garbage, and washes location dishes when required.

Required Qualifications:

  • Secondary School (Grade 12) diploma;
  • Less than one (1) year experience in a food service related industry and knowledge of food preparation an asset;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multi task;
  • Ability to work independently and/or in a team atmosphere;
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure;
  • Ability of providing speedy, efficient, courteous and tactful service;
  • Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and stock a variety of merchandise;
  • Ability to work flexible hours if required.

Anticipated Schedules:

  • Monday to Thurs. 6 hours per day
  • These positions are paid at Payband
  • Vacancy is for P1725
  • These positions are 12months per year positions
This position requires regular on-site work at Algonquin College's Woodroffe (Ottawa) Campus
