Job Description Mission**We have an exciting opportunity for a Director, Hydropower and Dams eager to partake in the project management, business development, coordination of multidisciplinary teams, technical design, inspection or restoration of various energy, dam, and hydropower facilities. The incumbent will demonstrate resourcefulness and initiative to carry out their tasks in an environment where empowerment is highly valued. Ideally you are located in the GTA or Southern Ontario, including the Niagara region.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Ensure full management of the projects entrusted to him at the level of study, engineering, construction and commissioning.
  • Coordinate the work of multidisciplinary teams in several locations.
  • Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team focused on Hydropower and Dams market.
  • Direct and supervise the progress of engineering work, activities related to estimating and construction in order to ensure a smooth progress of activities in accordance with established objectives.
  • Mentor and supervise the work of engineers and technicians.
  • Solve technical problems requiring research or indepth analysis.
  • Lead synergies with several discipline leads in multidiscipline projects for project success.
  • Complete and /or supervise design activities as lead project engineer and prepare or review engineering drawings and specifications for structural design.
  • Carry out studies and technical reports.
  • Lead /collaborate on proposals writing and costing for different types of energy work and different clients.
  • Manage project schedule, budget and deliverables for multiple Hydropower and Dams projects with the overall responsibility to strive for project success.
  • Lead project management activities during the lifecycle of the project.
  • Ensure quality processes are implemented in the project deliverables.

Qualifications

  • University Degree in civil or structural engineering.
  • Member of the Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO) or eligible to obtain professional license.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • Proven minimum 10 years of experience in project management activities, including overseeing of scope, schedule, resources, quality, and budget to ensure the project is delivered on budget and schedule.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the design of concrete and steel structures.
  • Experience with water retaining structures and dam engineering.
  • Excellent problemsolving techniques and motivated to work in large diverse teams and clients.
  • Knowledge of standards and codes governing structural design.
  • Excellent management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
