Position Overview:


The Speech Language Pathologist is responsible and accountable to the Manager, Interprofessional Practice for the provision of quality care, assessment, treatment, education and counselling to patients with swallowing and communication impairments as established by the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) and the standards of speech language pathology care of the hospital.

You will work as an active member of a multidisciplinary team.

Education

  • Masters' Degree in Speech Language Pathology.
  • Registered and in good standing with the College of Audiologists and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in acute care hospital based SLP care delivery required.
  • Experience with video fluorographic swallow studies is required.
  • Experience with tracheostomized individuals an asset.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to function as an effective interdisciplinary team member.
  • Willingness to participate/lead health service councils and task groups.
  • Motivated to practice in accordance with the mission and vision of hospital/health service.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and personal development.
  • Good work and attendance record required.
