We are recruiting a Senior Algorithms Researcher (F/M) for our client, for a full-time contract (40h/week) in hybrid mode (working at the office on Mondays and Thursdays) in Montreal. At this firm, you'll work with the R&D Applications team to solve highly complex problems in a wide range of sectors, including logistics, cybersecurity, finance, gaming, pharmaceuticals and chemicals.

Your main missions:

  • Research and prototype new algorithms to solve customer problems.
  • Actively monitor the latest research and techniques for solving combinatorial optimization problems (COP).
  • Develop new optimization algorithms using hardware solvers developed by the hardware team.
  • Interface with the R&D Hardware team to develop new solvers and application layers to improve algorithm performance.
  • Interface with the product team to transfer prototype algorithms/codes to the production system.
  • Design experiments and carry out tests in close collaboration with university researchers.
  • Any related tasks as required.

Your profile:

  • PhD degree in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Very good mathematical expertise in probability (mathematical tools and concepts, stochastic probabilities, etc.).
  • Very good knowledge and expertise in probabilistic algorithms.
  • At least two years' experience (recent and outside PhD) in developing algorithms for optimization problems.
  • Very strong skills in modern C++ and Python.
  • Experience of successful product delivery.
  • Familiarity with industry-standard software development practices (e.g. Kanban, Agile).
  • Experience in a technology startup.
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English.
  • Curious, responsible, able to work independently and enjoy teamwork.

Assets :

  • GPU experience (Rust, OpenCL, CUDA).
  • Experience with quantum-inspired solvers.
  • Knowledge of French is a plus.

Nous recrutons, pour notre client, un Chercheur Senior en Algorithmes (F/H) , pour un contrat à temps plein (40h/semaine) en mode hybride (présentiel lundi et jeudi) à Montréal. Au sein de cette firme, vous travaillerez avec l'équipe R&D Applications afin de résoudre des problèmes très complexes dans un large éventail de secteurs notamment la logistique, la cybersécurité, la finance, les jeux, l'industrie pharmaceutique et la chimie.

Vos missions :

  • Rechercher et prototyper de nouveaux algorithmes pour résoudre les problèmes des clients.
  • Veille active sur les dernières recherches et techniques pour résoudre les problèmes d'optimisation combinatoire (COP).
  • Développer de nouveaux algorithmes d'optimisation à l'aide de solveurs matériels développés par l'équipe chargée du matériel.
  • Assurer l'interface avec l'équipe R&D Hardware pour développer de nouveaux solveurs et couches d'application afin d'améliorer les performances des algorithmes.
  • Assurer l'interface avec l'équipe produit pour transférer les algorithmes/codes prototypes vers le système de production.
  • Concevoir des expériences et effectuer des tests en étroite collaboration avec des chercheurs universitaires.
  • Toute tâche connexe en fonction des besoins.

Votre profil :

  • Diplôme de Doctorat (PhD) en Recherche opérationnelle, Mathématiques appliquées, Sciences informatiques, Informatique, Ingénierie électrique ou équivalent.
  • Très bonne expertise mathématique en probabilités (outils et concepts mathématiques, probabilités stochastiques, etc.).
  • Très bonne connaissance et expertise des algorithmes probabilistes.
  • Au moins deux ans d'expérience (récentes et en dehors du PhD) dans le développement d'algorithmes pour les problèmes d'optimisation.
  • Très solides compétences en C++ et Python modernes.
  • Expérience de livraison réussie de produits.
  • Familiarité avec les pratiques de développement de logiciels standard de l'industrie (par exemple Kanban, Agile).
  • Expérience dans une startup technologique.
  • Bonne connaissance de l'anglais écrit et parlé.
  • Être quelqu'un de curieux, responsable qui sache travailler en autonomie et qui ait le goût de travailler en équipe.

Atouts :

  • Expérience de l'utilisation des GPU (Rust, OpenCL, CUDA)
  • Expérience avec des solveurs inspirés de la quantique
  • La connaissance du français est un plus.
