Le Cercle des Canadiens Français de Prince George (CCFPG) is a non-profit organization established in 1960. We are dedicated to providing a variety of sociocultural and educational activities for the community, contributing to the development of new French services, promoting the French language, culture, products, and services, as well as welcoming and facilitating the integration of newcomers.

About the Job:

The person in this role will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of the community center and the programs and services offered by the association. Working in compliance with relevant laws and regulations, they will ensure alignment with the association's mission, policies, and bylaws. Reporting to the association's presidency or vice-presidency in their absence, they will collaborate with the board members, committees, and the community at large.

  • Full-time Position: 37.5 hours/week
  • Salary: between $30/h and $40/h, based on experience
  • Contract Date: Starting from October 1, 2023
  • Work Location: Prince George
  • Language Requirements: Bilingual, French and English

Job Summary:

  • Ensure the daily operation of the community center and programs in adherence to administrative guidelines, association policies, and bylaws.
  • Handle the drafting of grant applications, final reports, and assessments as required by ministries while meeting deadlines.
  • Manage the association's finances, budgets, and grant applications.
  • Supervise and oversee human resources (employees or volunteers), programs, services, and activities of CCFPG to maintain a quality level that fosters a stable and conducive community environment.
  • Plan and coordinate meetings with the board of directors and support their functions.
  • Represent CCFPG by maintaining relationships with members, volunteers, local and provincial associations, government agencies, suppliers, and the community, attending meetings at all levels.
  • Perform any other tasks related to the role.

Selection Criteria:

  • College or university education in administration, management, or marketing, and/or relevant experience in the non-profit sector or independent business field.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in French and English.
  • Demonstrated teamwork skills.
  • Value and respect board members and staff.
  • Show integrity, dynamism, and creativity.
  • Handle complex and delicate issues with tact and diplomacy.

Specific Requirements

  • Immediate availability
  • Authorized to work in Canada
  • Valid British Columbia driver's license, an asset
  • Undergo a criminal record check and provide two reference names
  • Available for evening and weekend activities with potential travel requirements
  • Understanding of the concept of a minority French-speaking community

Salary:

Salary is based on education level, experience, and organizational income. The employment contract includes a probation period and will be reviewed annually during the employee's performance evaluation.
