and responsibilitiesManage month-end close process for regional entities: o Ensure proper interface and reconciliation with various systems (Oracle, IMOS, Concur) o Record operating expenses, fuel and trade costs o Maintain fixed assets o Review Overhead transactions and book accruals o Prepare monthly consolidated financial resultsInterface with Australia which requires some weeknight meetings to speak to individuals in their time zonePrepare and/or review statutory financial statements for various entitiesParticipate in the annual year-end audit including preparation of supporting schedules, impairment analysis review and various documentation of position papersPerform physical counts and maintain inventory ledgers Maintain insurance claims accounting records and supporting documentationPrepare monthly reconciliations for various general ledger accounts Apply accounting policies in agreement with company and accounting standardsParticipate, in conjunction with Corporate Accounting, in the implementation of accounting and internal control policiesPerform internal testing of ship manager's operating expenses and crewing costsOrganize and lead weekly meetings with the operations team to review fuel consumption and inventoriesPrepare ad hoc reports and analysis, as requiredContribute to improve processes, procedures and tools utilized by the department.

Accomplish other duties as assignedQualification and skillsBachelor in accounting, administration or business5 years+Experience within a large organization preferredStrong accounting skills including knowledge of Accounting Standards for Private Enterprises (ASPE)Meticulous with great attention to detailsAbility to work with large volumes of dataEthical and accountableRespectful of deadlinesStrong analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent Excel and database skillsTeam player with very good interpersonal skillsSolid communication skills both written and verbal, including the ability to present analysis to individuals outside of the accounting groupExperience with Oracle and Power BI is a plusBilingual – speak and write in French and EnglishCertified Public Accountant (CPA) This is a full time, salaried position.
