What You Will Get To Do-The Grass Cutting Crew Leader is responsible for performing the duties associated with parks and grounds maintenance, including but not limited to:
  • full scope grounds maintenance such as grass cutting and trimming;
- leaf and/or debris clean-up;
- providing guidance and direction to grass cutting crew members;
- safe operation of small motorized equipment such as lawnmowers and trimmers;
- safe operation of mid-sized equipment such as tractors, mowers and trucks towing a trailer;
- providing excellent customer service, including responding to inquiries/concerns from the general public and other members of staff in a courteous manner; and,
- accurate fuelling of all equipment and/or vehicles;
- ensuring all vehicles, equipment and/or tools are operated and maintained in a safe and professional manner;
- other duties as required and assigned.

The Equipment Operator Grade I (Truck Driver) is responsible for:

  • operating and maintaining vehicles over 11,000 kg., G.V.W., including single and tandem axle vehicles, and accessory equipment;
- loading, hauling and unloading of various materials and supplies;
- involvement in winter snow operations, including snow removal, sanding/salting and ploughing of roads and sidewalks;
- involvement in summer road work, including sweeping, shouldering, patching, repairing washouts, maintenance, resurfacing and ditching;
- ensuring all equipment and/or tools are operated in a safe and professional manner;
- providing excellent customer service, including responding to inquiries/concerns from the general public and other members of staff in a courteous manner; and,
- other duties as assigned.
