NOTE:
These positions are due to commence August 2023.

NAIT's Crane & Hoist Equipment Operator programs prepare students to operate any boom truck or mobile. As well as training them in advanced rigging practices for any load they may encounter as a crane operator.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory and industry setting
  • Participate in curriculum development, program reviews and course reviews
  • Facilitate the learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensure efficient and effective delivery of course materials
  • Manage instructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effective learning environment
  • Create assessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records
  • Provide early and ongoing coaching and tutoring for students to maximize student success and retention
  • Respond to student issues
  • Utilize appropriate educational technology for presentations, communications and program promotions
  • Maintenance and/or submission of program/student records accurately and promptly
  • Maintain professional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industry partners
  • Actively participate in the strategies of NAIT's Strategic Plan and NAIT's Academic Plan as identified by the institute
  • Utilize regular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement
  • Improve the quality of instruction through professional development activities
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma
  • Completion of Crane and Hoist Equipment Operator Alberta Journeyperson certificate or provincial equivalent required including Inter-Provincial Red Seal an asset
  • Minimum 5 years recent industry experience after completion of Journeyperson ticket preferred
  • Teaching experience an asset

Remuneration:
Will commensurate with education and experience, plus a comprehensive benefits package. (Instructor salary grid $2, $4,284.34 biweekly, however, starting salary for a new hire averages between $2, ,243.48 biweekly based on education and experience with room for negotiations. (Classification - Instructor).

  • This position is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective Agreement_
