CHILD AND ADOLESCENT PSYCHOLOGIST
One (1) Contractor Position
Wabasca, Alberta

The Bigstone Community Wellness department is seeking an experienced and motivated Child and Adolescent Psychologist, to join our talented Health Team in Wabasca, Alberta.

This is a rewarding opportunity if you have an appreciation for Indigenous culture, a desire for continuing professional development and enjoy the support and collaboration from our multidisciplinary team and various other professionals and agencies.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Providing diagnostic and evaluation for services for clients
• Performing psychological testing
• Conducting psychotherapy
• Collaborating with families, Bigstone Community Wellness team members and other supports to coordinate treatment

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Experience and advanced skills in diagnostic assessment, including mental health status examinations, risk assessment and DSM V Diagnoses
• Experience in providing evidence based individual and group treatment modalities for children and adolescents with severe mental health problems/issues
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary team with demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience in change management with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with other professionals and contribute positively to change in emerging services/programs
• Experience providing expert clinical consultation to and mentoring families and professionals in the mental health field

Education and Experience:

• Completion of Maters or Doctoral degree in Psychology in applied area relevant to the practice setting from a Canadian Psychological Association (CPA).
• An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 2 years recent postdegree experience working with Children and Adolescents in a tertiary inpatient or outpatient setting required
• Active registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists (CAP).
• Experience working in a Pediatric Mental Health Service
• Experience in program development and evaluation and research
