The ANC is presently seeking to hire 2
_Summer Program Coordinators _for the ANC Summer Program for Newcomer Children for its Child and Youth Programs (CAYP) team of Settlement division at its school/camp-sites in metro area, St.

John's.

These positions are funded through the
Canada Summer Jobs Program at an hourly rate of $15.50/hr.


Canada Summer Jobs is a program under the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy, which aims to provide flexible services to help all young Canadians develop the skills and gain paid work experience to successfully transition into the labor market.

June 09, 2023**Reporting to the
Child and Youth Program (CAYP) Coordinator, the
Summer Program Coordinator will be responsible to function as team members and help provide the day-to-day delivery of recreational, social, and educational summer programming for children ages 5-12 in their first year in Canada, with the goal to develop children's assets and foster the development of self-esteem.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, conduct, and supervise all recreational activities for children and young teenagers during their stay at the camp.
  • Ensure the smooth running of all the daytoday activities by maintaining the camp's safety.
  • Ensure the wellbeing and safety of campers by creating a safe, fun, and rewarding environment.
  • Report any incidents to the CAYP Coordinator immediately.

Qualifications:

  • Be a good role model.
  • Possess leadership and communication skills.
  • Be reliable and skilled at solving problems.
  • Be patient and understanding in all circumstances.

Conditions of Employment:

  • Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment.
  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
  • Hold a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
  • Satisfactory Certificate of Conduct and Vulnerable Sector Check from the RCMP.
