The Opportunity:

As Director of our consulting clients Emissions Reduction & Compliance (ERC) business unit, you will lead and drive the strategic growth of the services.

This role requires managing large, multi-layered teams, preferably in a consulting environment.

The successful candidate will strategically drive growth and market share for permitting and reporting, sampling and investigation, and consulting services.

This role can be remote, being located in the GTA.

What You'll Be Doing:


Reporting to the Executive Vice President and overseeing the team, you will provide leadership and technical advice for engineering and environmental projects to 7 direct reports.

Providing leadership to the ERC team, gaining staff trust, promoting innovation, integrating career development and succession planning, and adhering to company policies.

Devising new operational and business development strategies, overseeing the business development program, and working collaboratively with company technology leaders in commercial, public and real estate marketsDevise new operational and business development strategies to scale new engineering capabilities in water and air emission / ventilationConvey the purpose and essence of the group's strategic plan so all staff understand their role in the group's success in achieving all business goalsWork collaboratively to improve efficiency and qualityPrepare and deliver on annual business plansWork with ERC leaders to strategically expand traditional environmental services within the group through geographic expansion, service expansion and partnering with other divisionsBe active in the industrial community and consider regulatory requirements and environmental trends or concerns in the strategic planning process for the ERC business such as sustainability or lowering carbon emissions for exampleDemonstrate good business knowledge and implement measures to continue to increase group margins and financial performanceEnsure that group budgets are prepared on time and that profit and utilization targets are metSupport preparation and negotiation of proposals and contracts with prospective and existing clientsEnsure employees and direct reports submit internal reporting information on a timely basisEffective management of work in progress (WIP) to ensure work is billed accurately and on a timely basisWhat You'll Need to Be Successful:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering.
Professional designation (P. Eng.) preferred.

Experience in leveraging the group's engineering capabilities in ventilation/air quality and water verticals to drive exponential growth15 to 20 years of related experience, with demonstrated leadership skills and experience managing large teams.

Knowledge and a network within the industrial sector. Including Food Manufacturing, Battery, Automotive industriesExperience developing and executing strategic initiatives and business development plans.

Experience growing an engineering team in water/water treatment, air quality/ventilation, or process engineeringSpirit of innovation to lever technology to improve quality, efficiency, and coordination.

Excellent organizational skills, accuracy, and attention to detail required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
