Job Duties/Qualifications, Skills and Abilities(QSA):
- Job Duties
Job Duties - The Student Employment Coordinator contributes directly to the Saskatchewan Polytechnic philosophy that there is more to our students' education than what takes place in the classroom or on work placements. Under the direction of the Manager, Strategic Enrollment the Coordinator is responsible for researching, developing and delivering programs, services and events to prepare and assist students and alumni to enter the work force at different stages of their education and career development; both during their years as a student and following their graduation.
The Coordinator will provide services to meet the needs of diverse individuals at different stages of their education and career (early, mid-career, advance) which requires a depth of knowledge in ethical practice and educational resources.
The Coordinator collaborates with all campus programs and faculty research to provide services to develop skill sets that are key to the preparation for their employment and support students in job search readiness and employment success.
The Coordinator also builds and maintains relationships with external employment contacts and industry to help students access resources and employment opportunities.
As a champion for the well-being and success of all students, the Coordinator consults with Indigenous Services, International Education and Accessibility Services to ensure that initiatives engage and support Indigenous and international students and students of all abilities.
The Coordinator also works closely with other program areas that focus on student and alumni employment success outcomes such as Career Counselling, Cooperative Education and Advancement.

- A degree or diploma in Human Sciences, Marketing/Communications, or Public Relations, Business.
- Two years' recent relevant experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge of student services.
- Effective interpersonal and intercultural communications skills.
- Strong facilitation skills ability to present, interpret, summarize, and document information for varying audiences.
- Ability to work independently on multiple initiatives and manage priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to collaborate and work well in teams with a high level of initiative and motivation.
- Knowledge of managing a budget.
- Demonstrated understanding and appreciation of diversity.
- Class 5 Driver's License.
