Students enrolled or in the process of enrolling in an MSc program at Simon Fraser University (proof will be required before the start date) with a specialization in Geosciences or other relevant specialization.

The intention is to staff one student position for the completion of a Master of Science degree, supervised by Dr.

Glyn Williams-Jones, at Simon Fraser University.

  • Currently enrolled or in the process of enrolling at Simon Fraser University in a Master of Science program, specializing in Geoscience, Geology, or Earth Sciences.
  • Graduation with a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts, with a specialization in Geosciences, Geology, Earth Sciences, or other relevant specialization from a recognized postsecondary institution.
Degree equivalency


In the context of student recruitment in the federal public service, experience can be acquired through studies, work experience or volunteer activities.


  • Study or employment experience in studying how magma composition and eruptive conditions can affect volcanic deposits.
  • Geological field camp/school or relevant employment experience.
